April 19th  Today we get into snow 10 ft deep altho hard as a road in some places one occassionally falls thro and has to be hauled out as best we can: trees are blazed away up among the branches so if snow ever melts and any one takes a walk over these hills they will thinks they must have all been giants on this survey

horses to move our camp once more to another lake marked on the chart as "Great Central Lake". This is a long lake some 20 to 21 miles long and from 1 mile to 2 miles wide: the hills come precipitously down to the waters edge: being about 150 to 200 ft above sea level: any amount of beaver seem to be busy at work along the "alders". Everything is got to lake by dark. The team leaves the wagon behind being unable to get thro' for the trees and so we are delayed some time.
