April 3rd Today is washing day being Sunday some darn stocking, others go fishing, one or two try their luck at shooting but the sensible rest and sleep most of the day: but one man manages to be 15 dollars richer than he was this morning as he shot a magnificent bear the fur of which is like velvet:
April 4th Today we get as far as a bluff overlooking a good large lake called Sproat's Lake: there is an almost perpendicular bluff of 400 ft to be climbed down some way or another
