Corp. Wright (15th MG) Miss Scott Ada & I to Somme Battle picture. Excellent in every way but not so gruesome as expected - heavy batteries in action exceptionally fine. Mametz & Fricourt villages crumbled brick & matchwood.
Go to Navy yard with Rolly Whyte - first day I have felt anything like well for six months. Miss Scott ("Tommy") - stenographer adjutant & A - but breakdown badly in afternoon. Geo & Mable, Lorne & I got to Somme pictures. Sister Wilkinson & probationer Miss Cross leave for new hospital at Resthaven, Sidney.
Lorne comes down to hospital for me. Long talk with F C Green.
