Dear Mrs. Swannell

I am writing to say how much I admire your courage in letting Frank join this outfit.

I can of course only have a faint idea of what it costs you. For a man to leave a home such as Frank has, & if I may say so Mrs. Swannell, such a wife, takes high courage. But I think, & I am sure the other fellows agree with me, that you show a higher courage than any of us in allowing him to go. I want you to believe that Frank is among friends in this section, men who hope to prove themselves as such before we get thro' this war
