Dunbar just now. I had a letter from him last night, he writes in good spirits and hopes that he soon will be on his way home, apparently he is expecting to be demobilized any time now. He put himself down as a farmer so that he might get away earlier!

At present he says he has been playing golf at every available occasion and is getting into pretty good form. You ask me why he hasn't been writing of late -- well all I can say is "Search me"! You will be amused to hear I had a letter from [A--?] last night written from 17 Mile House as a matter of fact it was an answer to a line I sent Mrs. Jackson weeks ago. He tells me the steel laying is going ahead in great shape and that they are now near Coopers Cove. It seems queer to think that when I get back I'll be able to take the train to Grouse Nest. Gee what a change! apparently everything is going O.K. at the old place which is very satisfactory to know. It was a splendid thing that you had Lewis fix the leaks before winter rains. This wd save the house tremendously very little spent on it now would put it in first class shape. I only wish there was a paying sheep business to take over when I get back. I think though I could always keep from starving down there anyway and one should be able to turn a few shekels on the timber and cord wood on the place. What about it? Allis tells me "Jessie" was in a railway accident in France last Oct. and had his leg fractured. pretty tough luck on old Jessie! He also told me that old Chief was still in the ring and as full of beans as ever, the old beggar.
