My dear Father
Here are a couple of match box covers I happened to pick up the other day, they have the M.G. badge on one side,&  the flags of the Allies are rather neat. I hope they may be of more use at Highwood, than they would be over here, at the present time one would never have a box to put in them! Today I had to light my pipe at the stove in the kitchen of the officer's mess; so you can understand how hard up we are for matches! You will notice I have enclosed them in a rather an ill chosen box,& at the first you may wonder who the deuce is sending you germicidal soap! The only thing though I could find to put them in. My dear Father

Here are a couple of match box covers I happened to pick up the other day, they have the M.G. badge on one side, & the flags of the Allies are rather neat. You will notice I have enclosed them in a rather an ill chosen box, & at the first you may wonder who the deuce is sending you Germicidal soap! The only thing though I could find to put them in.
