I came over with another chap from our depot; Capt. Webb by name, he has just lately come over with a draft from Vancouver. I knew him before , we qualified at Work Point in the same class together. He told me that the officers who came over with a draft from Vancouver a few months before us, were all shipped back again as conducting officers. Mr. Lewis who you've heard me speak of was one of the unfortunates, glad I didn't share the same fate! Well to continue with this wonderful week end jaunt that I am having . Eastbourne is about 8 miles from Seaford, an "unheard of" distance to walk, especially if there is
