the shape of German bayonets rifles etc but in the end I was too played out to bother with them; they would have looked well round the walls at Sooke; I am not a souvenir collector though like many others. There is only one souvenir I want at the end of the war and that's myself.

This is rather a decent ward, though there are some pretty bad cases in it. I am next a South African who played in that famous team of theirs in 1912, he is a pretty husky chap and is not badly hit I am glad to say.

Well I dont suppose for a moment they will give me long leave but I am going to have a shot at it. I think its time I came out west and looked you people up.

There are one or two Portugese in here and one man has just had a lot of friends in to visit him, it amused me to see the way
