Dear Erroll -
Well you haven't got that dough of mine at Cox's get old scout, though you weren't far off it several times. I am down at Etaples at present in Hospital but expect to be evacuated today to Blighty. When I went sick in [Arras?] after the fight I did not expect to be away long but they sent me down here and I am now marked a stretcher case for U.K. There is not a great deal wrong with me, a bad knee which they call synovitis in the medical profession.

I am glad to see the French are giving those devils what for; If only the Russians can come along with the goods on the Eastern Front we will see the end before very long. Its a good thing America joining in too, the moral effect will help tremendously even if they don't sent over troops.

Dear Erroll -

Well you haven't got that dough of mine at Cox's yet old scout, though you weren't far off it several times. I am down at Etaples at present in Hospital but expect to be evacuated today to Blighty. When I went sick in Arras after the fight I did not expect to be away long but they sent me down here and I am now marked a stretcher case for U.K.
