Saw Capt Thomas for Lieu Wilcocks. Also interviewed Capt Nelson D.C.L.I. who was very nice & referred me to the Adj of No 40 Group, who moved here today. Still trying to sleep on floor. Thunder showers & rain. Got letter from Percy, wrote M & Jessie. In evening wished my men Goodbye. They gave me three hearty cheers. Very good of them. |
May 15th. Walked to WAGONLIEU to enquire after the Graves Registration Unit. No one there. Afterwards I saw the Comp Commandant & he tells me where GRU place is. Capt Brook arrived. I cycled over to WANQUETIN. Had tea with Capt Slade & Dowery. Interviewed the Adj of the 40th Group, my old Coy are in Group 38 & the Colonel is G. 44. Cpl Mulen leaves for G. 44.
