as the aviator flew slowly and unconcernedly along. You could see where the shots went as they burst and left little balls of white smoke.
The weather has been wet the last day or two leaving roads heavy with mud. I sent [Mrs?] McNaught a card the day before yesterday. It is hard sometimes to judge just when you can get a letter away. Kindly excuse the writing and dirt [but?] __ Best of love to all and yourself
