I was in that Passchendaele affair. Some hot joint believe muh! All the old timers in the Rgt. say it was much worse than the Somme.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we weren't all home again before Summer, as I think and so does every body else around here, that the war is going to finish very suddenly. I got another pound from Tabby of your money just before Xmas. I will have plenty when I get back to Canada and get my deferred pay, a good nest egg anyway. I had my photo taken yesterday in hospital uniform, will send you a couple if they turn out alright. Freddie Croften was up to see me last night.
