It seems to me that the war will last a long time.

I am longing to see you again but I will have to be patient; some very fine regiments are with us today we were with the 10th Hussars and the Life Guards were alongside.

I dont suppose you ever got the postcards I sent you. It is very very difficult to write letters are we are up about 3 or 4 marching and fighting all day, luckily I dont have to go on guard at night. Now I am very tired so must say good bye.
