Friend Fred Just Received your letter This afternoon and was pleased to get one.  you were saying in your letter you heard we all got run in a Ashcroft is that some of Murphy BS. There was one and he came from 150 Mile H. a Half Bred. We must have started them at Barkerville. by te=he names you say have enlisted, good Luck to them. We may meet them on the Battlefield I would like for them to come into our crush. they have stopped recruiting in the 54th. we got inspected by the Duke of Connaught today. A Royal Review the 54th 47th 62nd and Canadians Mounted Rifles. and Army Service Corps it was fine to look at . after it was all over he said it was the finest bunch
