Well Fred, when is this war going to be over? There is all kinds of betting going on about it, have had lots of chances to win some easy money from the optimists, but it is a litle to ghastly sport for me. There is a big batle on just as I am writing this, and I hear there is lots of Canadians killed yesterday and today I am always dreading looking over the list of killed and wounded as several of my friends I have made since I joined the army have got theyr battens as Ringland used to say. I hope you will have suceses with your quarts. Something will have to turn up to keep the good old camp going and I think a boom in quarts would be the clear thing. Well Fred I will have to quit for the time. I wont bother about War news as you get that sooner and more of it than we get here, so whishing you all kinds of good luck and with my best whishes for your family |
