4/ adventure with the bear than you gave me in the Carriboo Observer Walter Barlow got one the day I got your letter, yes I was very lucky in getting into this outfit when our Regiment was broken up there is Ben Scobie Bob Norrie, Ed Sandholm & Corp. Charlie Howrie here from Barkerville and Frank Leonard, Joe Lang Walter Barlow' Russel Craig from Quesnell it beats the trenches but we are liable to be called back to our unit any day I havent seen any of the rest of the boys for sometime but they are all making good and their Batt has a splendid record second to none I wrote you some time ago but I guess it had'nt arrived when you wrote I had been one leave to Paris and say I had some time it is the ideal city for a good time it could'nt  be better if one had it made to order
