Dear Friend Fred, Its with the greatest pleasure I take the opportunity of writing you a few lines in answer to your always looked for and very interesting letter which I received day before yesterday I am glad to say that I am getting along fine as can be expected under the circumstances I am in good health with the exception of a very bad cold the weather has been very severe here for the last three weeks Zero [nrather] with about seven inches of snow which make it very unpleasant on our kind of work
