| − | Dear Fred I have been here in Van. since a week ago to night. I did not write before as I expected perhaps to have something to say as to what the Army was going to do with me. I have not yet been up for board but expect I shall have no trouble getting my discharge. The army here does not appear to have a very good system Lots of men are at work in Civies clothes earning good money & they are still on the army pay roll & drawing severation & patriotic money. | + | |

The man who like myself did in a quiet way good service at the front will not stoop to whine or seek these favours & thus we get to a very great extent the worst of it | ||

I have been here in Van. since a week ago to night. I did not write before as I expected perhaps to have something to say as to what the Army was going to do with me.
