& though Wess made us all angry at times even we who were not tied to him by relationship always had a warm place in our [har] hearts for Wess. Those messages of regards & good wishes from old Tillicums are very plesant & refreshing to get & help to keep us in good heart. I heard a rumor which I find hard to belive; that Fred Harper had taken to drink to excess. I hope this is not so it is a poor way out of business troubles Which Harper may well have in these days. There are some young reserve soldiers (under 19) in training near here. I do not think many of them will be wanted But it is as well to train them early. It will give them a better chance to protect thier lives when they do have to go. My Nephew nearly 17 after he is 17 he will most likely be kept in the Chemests corps as he is a Honours man; in Chemestry exams for L.
