5/ Thank you & Ford for the whetstones I dont doubt that some one of my chums will have one & my Segt ( a good chap English) the other. The letter he sent over but the other would be opened in case it was grub parcels of gone men are always opened it is a good plan & axepted by all I remember sending Bill Brown a Field P.C. I sent several to people I thought would be pleased or interested to see one. They are very useful In dangerous times I sent 1 every week at least home when there is reason for my folks to know I am in the particular part that the heavy stuff is going on. I keep them posted as a rule as to my exact location. But it cannot be done to Canada. I have had tea since I wrote the last line & have now got hold of a slow sticking pen & bum ink so it is going to be a slow job to write much more. I saw a letter today that Peterson got fm F. Murphey last spring
