Your ever welcome letter & news sheet reached me yesterday This one was 7/6/17. There is little to write about that may be written. Since I wrote you we have moved twice to different parts of the line. The first move was to that part of the line where Murphy was killed & now we are North of where the present Liberal candedate for your district was wounded. He will be a poor substitute for martin Burrell but will I expect be returned. I belive I told you in my last letter that Tom Brierly looked war worn  & I think he needed a long rest. But it is too clear that many shirkers do get sent out who do not need it except because they  have got the wind up. I could I think name several that we both know that have
