+ | I don't want to die or to be a hero but I do want to do my bit & as I had not yet got to the stage of being shell shocked or unduly nervous under fire I feel that I am not doing all that a man can do. I hardly expected to get into the infantry only men under 40 are allowed in as a rule. But my age never yet handicapped me. I never fell out or was sick on hard marches often when plenty of young men fell out, & never had the least idea of dodging a hot trip to the front as many I have met have done when they could get away with it. However I have some hopes yet that we shall get into a infantry Batt as men are wanted all the time for the inf. I forgot to say I got the Bunch of Q.O.s O.K. on the side I noticed that Kit C. has stretched (or the paper had) both the length of & the place of his services in France. Only the other day I found out that E. Skeen is in this bunch as far as I know he is usually employed in bringing | ||
