Dear Fred It is so long since I wrote a letter to you that you might very well think me Napoo or changed in my wish to keep in touch with Cariboo. Neither of those things have happened Just a combination caused the delay Partly because I expected a reply to one I sent you from here about Mar. 2nd saying I was sending 25$(through the Pay Master; the only way I could sent it.) to give to W.C. to Pay for the wintering of my poney. Though I got a long & very interesting one from you sent after I had sent mine but posted before you had received mine. Also now we are at railway work we have not much of interest to write about. Then I knew I was going on leave & intended to write a long letter to you while on leave under comfortable & convenient conditions. That fell through because I found time on leave to precious & too well filled up with solid pleasure & good time to write

Dear Fred

It is so long since I wrote a letter to you that you might very well think me Napoo or changed in my wish to keep in touch with Cariboo. Neither of those things have happened. Just a combination caused the delay Partly because I expected a reply to one I sent you from here about Mar. 2nd saying I was sending 25$ (through the Pay Master; the only way I could sent it.) to give to W. & C. to Pay for the wintering of my poney.
