by our young friends. Certain I am that Pat Careys heart is right, I did not mean my Joke about the fire water to be taken as an order, still if he has bought it I shall be greatly pleasured to help drink it. I buy no booze here & we often do not get our rum ration so I shall be entitled to indulge a little when it is all over. I sent to you by army pay office remiter; 25$, it is not certain when you will get it but it will come. The Pay Master Ryan asked me if you were related to a man of that name in Calgary. I told him you had a Brother in that town who died over a year ago he said he knew him well & was quite nice. Usually he is very stiff & regimental. Please pay to W. & C when chance offers what they have had to pay out for my horse keep I can not give you any war experiences as we (our Batt) are not at war now. We are doing R.R. construction work & have not been up to the front line for weeks
