i got a letter from Pat which I much appreciated thanking me for the photos also a letter from C. Cafflett. Glad to know from you that Harper got his too bad F.H. is too busy to drop a line or two.  But as he has a desk & ink & paper handy all the time it is too easy a trick not to put off. i saw Old Kelly to day on the street He looks the same but is almost white in the hair. The W.X. is better now & to day was the 2nd fine day with nice sun shine. I do hope we get some nice weather it has been a long & miserable winter ( worse than any I can think of in Cariboo) i was in hospital last week for several days touch of lungs I guess I was light in the head two days but was sent out of hospital on the 4th day. for nearly 10 days I have hardly been able to talk with sore throat hope it soon goes as I will get a chance then to drill recruits. in the squad drill. I have sent Mrs Stone a photo of self as requested and pleased to have given the lady some little pleasure she got from having something to chat about to the boys when she met them. I can very willing by stand the Joining that the lady gets if she does not mind. About 20 men got here yesterday from Prince George for the 1st Can. Pioneers. Frank Stevenor & George Hamilton a Half Breed Both once of Barkerville & 2 men I knew of
