We went out the other day to some near by woods & cut a lot of small trees ( 4 in about) & in any length & packed them back to where we had dug some trenches these poles are to be used for barbed wire entanglements & soon we are to start at maning the trenches at night My own idea is that we want teaching how to do smartly & properly our platoon & Co drill before we learn other things & above all we must learn unquestioning obedience to all orders which only C.F. Boyd W. Fletcher G. Turner & Myself have learned. Arhcie & Walter Boyd both seem slow
