I asked him if he had any writing & he had none so I told him to go & tell Cook to wait. I soon found out after I had got the boys stowed away in South that the man was a fraud. Luckly I had wit enough to refuse to take his word. I had several little jobs like that put up on me & did not fall for any of them. Soon I shall think I am confedent to travell alone if I keep out of these shysters hands. | ||
