At  South Fort George a booster met me 7 told me he had been sent by Cook to take us over to Prince & that Cook was waiting to see me. I asked him if he had any writing] & he had none so I told him to go & tell Cook to wait. I soon found out after I had got the boys stowed away in South that the man was a fraud. Luckly I had wit enough to refuse to take his word. I had several little jobs like that put up on me & did not fall for any of them. soon I  shall think I am confedent to travell alone if I keep out of these shysters hands.
