I had arranged with a Belgian to play us over but he fell by the way side & the main thing was the train was 4 hours late. & a booze house heard of it & sent work over that there was a free feed for the boys. I knew this ment a lost & scattered croud so did what seemed best to me. Had the call as arranged on time & then dissmissed the boys but told them to stay within call of our Hotel, the Northeren, also I made private arangements for a wagon & team to haul over the boys that were unable to walk. The team was not used, as all seemed able to walk a the start but at the end of the first mile one man after much help over that mile went down flat so I got a man that was riding a horse to race ahead & sent back an auto to pick up our wounded we went along fairly well I having to run back & forth on the side time to ask the leading man to go
