Dear Fred Thanks very much for your newsy letter, its the only one I've had from B'rille since I left. I will now do the best I can to give you a little news from here, so here goes. Ive seen several of the boys that left up there before we did. Scotty Gilchrist, Mickey Mercer. Tom + Harry Becerley + Jack Ellis. They are still here in the 54th and all looking fine + dandy. Scotty's a full Corporal now. Oliver Kason he's in the Canadian Engineers, and you remember long Haines that went trapping with Dawson, when he was drowned, well he's here in the 102nd. The 62nd has been split up and drafted into other batallions Topp the butcher, Ramsay that used to work at the valley. Laudy [Fargehar?] from the Gov Office at Quesnel the are in at, "so far so good"  How about the surroundings, we are dumped down in one of the prettiest parts
