A fellow hates to see the camp cleaned out of about everything but unfits or conceintious objectors.  A con - objector, in case you don't happen to know is a man who didn't register & when picked up by the police is given the chance to join or go to jail.  Several of the boys were scratched off at the last minute, even after they had the duffel bags packed & their beds rolled.  One poor plug was taken off the train after he was in bed.  So I guess some of the boys have more cause to feel sore than we have.

Well Fred, when we found out we were scratched & off the list, we went down to the Hospital & saw Mrs. Mac Arthur.  A surprise was surely waiting us there.  I had pictured her as being thin & worn looking from having been in bed
