Vancouver.  They were only enlisting men in Revelstoke for Infantry & so could not give us expenses to the coast for the Flying corpse but told us that if we got receits for our expenses we could likely have our money refunded, so we came over.  When we got here we found the Flying Corpse had closed enlistment for all but commissioned officers, so came out to Hastings park.  We thot of joining the navy for awhile but finally settled in the infantry.  On account of our having registered in Calgary, they couldn't do anything with us here till they had heard from Calgary.  We wanted another examination here & to get started work but nothing doing, it was against the rules for one Dr. to examine a man that had already been examined (Red Tape.)  So consequently we lived here a week in civilians clothes, had the run of the camp, could go to town when we pleased, the only restriction placed on us was we had to be in camp at 10.p.m. Tattoo.  They couldn't put us on Fatigue work as we hadn't any Fatigue
