I have had Christmas letters from the kiddies Dick and Sis who are getting along at school. This is really the first Christmas they have been able to even attempt a scribble. Sister is blossoming out into a full blown actorine. I have a program with the name of Annie [Wallcum ?] very prominent on it. A couple of weeks ago I went all through Southern Palistine that is Judea. I first went to  Beersheba which, if you know your old testament, was where Abraham and Sarah lived and Abraham (not Sarah) reared his numerous progeny. It is also the place were Rachael came and met Isaac. It has gone to seed as have the old Biblical towns and it really except for the historical associations as not worth visiting. We then went over the Hebron road through in  Judean hills to Hebron, a city f about 40,000 people in a valley. This is where Abraham and Sarah are buried. We then went to Bethlehem and saw the church of the nativity and the manger where Christ was born (perhaps) and then went to Jerusalem. Jerusalem is hewn right our of the rock and the Jews are the most obvious swine you ever saw. I would far rather have a Turk or an Arab. We saw the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where Christ was buried and saw his actual tomb (again perhaps). We saw Calvary where he was

Feb 19 19 E D L531 I03 Dear Dodi. It is quite a time since I got your letter but as news is scarce here I did not have very much to write about.
