About 2.30 Tuesday afternoon the list came in, & my name was not there. I at once thought it was a clerical error, & went to the Brigade Office, & in about 1/2 hour I heard that it was not a clerical error - By Jove - I then got busy - I again went to the Bde Office & got them to telephone to the Reinforcement officer & got it confirmed. I ran out, got a horse & galloped over to Shorncliffe to Divisional Headquarters, there found out that my name had been sent through with all the others to the War Office, that it came back with my name & several others cut out.
