Nov 9th

Dear Dody

Its a long time since I write you from Brixham, on our way to Hamburg. As you will see. We didn't get away before war was declared & so here we are in camp barracks in Berlin. On the 15th Sept, my dear old Father died in Christiania & was buried on the 19th, its made it hard in consequence for me, not being able to get away. Mother is now living with my sister Eleanor in Cornwall. I have written her some time ago & asked her to write you before they left Norway, but dont know if they are getting any letters. We only left Hamburg on the 6th Nov. I have had a card from Elaine, in which they say there's a letter presumably from you waiting. They are keeping till I get back again, please drop me a card to the address on the other side & let me know how you are. Best of love & wishes, will write again

your Boy
