19. l FECM at Div Hqrs at wh. Gen'l Sir Robert Fergusson OC XVII Corps his CRA & others of his staff were witnesses.  I defended prisoners wh. [illegible].  Very wet.

21.  I was to go to Army to learn my trade as CMO.  Geng to Switzer

23.  Moved Div Hqrs to ANICHE - AUBERCHICOURT.  Good billets - large mining town - Abs. gutted by Boche - wanton destruction - Quite quiet.  Enjoyed thoroughly the better quarters & the peacefulness.
