21. Went to Leamington. Found Auntie Dar (Mrs. Thompson) aged but well. Returned to town & picked up George & Joan Buckeley & took them to dinner at Scotts & to Empire afterwards Slept at officers Pavilion 52 Grosvenor Gdns where beg [illegible]was helping when the place - a delightful place.

22 Dec- Went to Ipswich & biked out to the Homestead in time for lunch with the Barnardistons - Back to town & to tea with at 28 Tedworth Sq with Meg & then to dinner Will at 28 Cadogan Gdns. Slept at Pavilion- (Mrs Bayley looking after Will Gull's house)

23 Dec. At Breakfast met Geo Ridley of West Yorks 2wLt. He was at Courcelle he on our right flank & was wounded.  Train to Hethersett & arrd at Carleton for tea.  Found Jess & Uncle also Jack & Bell & Walts. & Len's two children Rachie & Jack.  Delightful welcome.

23 Dec. At Breakfast met Geo Ridley of West Yorks 2nd Lt. He was at Courcelette he on our right flank & was wounded.  Train to Hethersett & arrd at Carleton for tea.  Found Jess & Uncle also Jack & Bell & Watts & Len's two children Rachie & Jack.  Delightful welcome.
