Sat 28 Apl - Maj Reynolds , Doc Watson, TO McLean, Ph & I walked into ARRAS - lunched at Hotel du Commerce Rue Gambettor in great style, joined by Capt Garnet Darley. Fine Day.

Sun 29.  Mon 30 Fine nothing doing.

Tues 1 May Bright & warm.  Transport lines closely shelled by duds.  no cas. Opp. camp bombed by 2 aeropl.  Transport lines shelled about 10 pm.

Wed 2 May - a Heine plane flying v. low    [ illegible] bombs & fired machine guns on camp & neighbourhood.  Major Latta - [illegible]

Thurs 3 May.  Heavy shelling neighbourhood of Aux Rietz.  Div. had to move

V. fine & warm. 27 & 31 attacked at dawn but not completely successful. Casualties heavy (fairly)

Fri 4 May - Warm & bright.  Saw [?] & w Landry  & brought them lunch.
