Mon 28 Aug March to Merckhegem [Merckeghem] via Watten. Shower. Whole Div on road. Reached billets about 11 am. Views from chateau on Watten hill v. fine. Eperlecques forest near by. At Rois rejoined Co.

Tues 29th Up early parade at 7.30. Marched 4 miles to Brigade training area. Rained most of day. Everyone soaking wet. Custance joined mess.

Wed 30 Pouring with rain. Musketry postponed. Still no coat.

Thurs 31 Aug Lovely day. Training on the area. Pte. G. Elliott #12 Platoon handed me money order for $73.25 wh. I sent last night by reg'd mail to my credit union Bank of Canada 6 Princes St. London to be disposed of as he may direct. Also sent 2/6 postal order to Bank for my personal credit.

Frid 1 Sept Fine day. Practiced Company attacks on new plan in training area.
