Sun Aug 6  Delightful walk to the cliffs about 500 ft high + down on the beach by the steep trail.  Glorious day - watched submarine nets + fleet of small vessels round end of nets + airship overhead.  Sd that in Sudan had lion caught.  After lunch went to Havre + after great struggle in crowd + long wait managed to get into the sea.  After a stroll along sea front watching landing of hydroplane + enjoying the crowds.  Dined at Bn Off'rs Club + then walked to camp up over hill by funicular.  Morkill Day + Foster breakfasted with us.

Mon Aug 7  Much cooler .  Dressing read word that we are to transfer to Rouelles or Harfleur about noon.  Found range training camp + rejoined by Morkill Day + 26 2nd off'rs.  V. hot.  In huts.  Our reg't equipped with German equipment landed in Ireland by Casement.
