Tues 18 Last parade of 88th. Marched to East Sandling 16 miles. Good day. Found ourselves attached to 30th Bn & in huts for first time. Shared room with Major Moberley & good mess & men & officers. Comfortable. Lovely neighbours.

On return to camp found that all of us for overseas had three days leave. Rushed for train & caught it. No luck in town. Stayed at Windsor Hotel & spent pleasant evening with Mary Bell & K.T.
Thurs 20 Caught 10.15 am train at Liverpool St with Joe & booked for Ipswich. £5.00 from bank.
