Named with three others as orderly officers for the day under Capt Twigg.  Altered platoon lines accdg to [coll?].  On active duty all night going the rounds every hour.  At 4pm practice general alarm.

Saturday 3 June  My duty having ended at 8am slept till 11am.  Battn. orderly room at noon [adjd?] till 2pm.

After waiting shows case in wh I was witness dismissed.  Sea perfectly calm but still  heavy fog.  First day's run to noon today 480 miles.  At times steamer stopped dead.  Ice about but weather mild.
