I saw Major Christie the other day.  He was as jolly as ever full of information about mutual friends with whom he seems to keep in close touch.

Brian I expect is back from leave but he is a long way from me now.  Ludendorf's address to the officers + N.C.O.s of the German Army in preparation for this greatest of all offensives makes most interesting reading and will be a historical document I should think.  But as it involves severe criticism of our staff work in our offensives it is not likely to be published until it becomes more historical than it is at present.  At all events he has carried on this campaign, so far with success, on strategical lines he then approved and recommended.  As his methods
