I am very sorry indeed to hear of Fred Fowkes' illness.
If he will take warning by it & curb his relentless desire for overwork I shall personally be most grateful to him.
However it is things like this which show others a main value. So Pomeroy has a son - my congratulations to him & I hear Miss Anderson is to be married - my congratulations to her. Why do I hear nothing of Oliver nor ever see his name in the papers? Is anything the matter? Susan seems to be doing great work but I hope she will be strong minded enough to refuse to have anything to do with pigs however much she may urge their culture upon others. I owe her a letter. Love to all. Your affectionate brother Arthur
