Dear Lindley

This scratch is really due to Jo - I think for its object is to thank for you the last parcel & her hand is most prominent in it though its principal content, the maple sugar, came from you. When I first saw the sugar I thought it would not be a success for the weather was very hot. However it suddenly cooled & is now quite chilly & I am perpetually asked what I have done with "all that maple sugar." This tablet is you can see already getting to work.
