The General who was President was very nice to all + took me to lunch at his private mess.  I there found Major Porteous.  That evening on our way back to the Bn we stopped at an estaminet for a meal + who should join us but Major Burde M.C. once Mayor of Port Alberni + Capt. Stanley Okell.  They are both in Joe Fall's original Bn - Burde has an important trench line in front of Lens named after him.  I have heard no more of Joe Fall.  He seems a bit of a disappointment but I may not have the truth or at all events the whole truth
