I have at least two letters to thank you for + mother for one also + a p.c. from Jo of Goldstream.  Copies of the Colonist have added to my stock of Victoria news.  I am glad to see that you are after Gavin Burns at last with regard to to the Wylly estate.  It is certainly right that you should take a prominent part in politics.  It is the only hope for us others. Fowkes has sent me one of his very best letters.  I have read extracts to many + it has always been appreciated.  The account of the James Island guard of returned soldiers is splendid.  You have heard how young Patricia came + looked me up when we were in
