− | + | wily Boche, so he won't have an entire monopoly in that direction - Regarding the war or movement idea, where full play will be given to strategy & tactics, well, the outcome of it is on the "Knees of the Gods" - what I mean is, that while I am not doubtful of the ultimate success of the Allies, I am not by any means sanguine enough to think that we will not have reverses and perhaps serious ones too - Discipline is such an important factor in such a war. But that we will smash the beggars in the end, & roll them back to the Rhine, I feel confident of - There is no use in wasting time prognosticating as to the End of the blooming war - You are first as well probably better, able to figure that out than I am - Please remember me to Lady Crease & your Sisters - Arthur showed me some quite good photos of Lady C the other day . I hope that Miss Crease's eyes are getting all right again. Don't forget old chap to "repeat the dose" of your very welcome letters | |
