every private knows his job -
Each one knows his work better than I do know because today was the first day I have been on the training ground, my work lying elsewhere.
You know we use pigeons for carrying messages in battle & it is obvious that to make them home properly they should only be fed at the place to which they are to home, hence the point of this story. A pigeon expert was lecturing & said "the most important thing to remember is that the pigeon must not be fed at both ends"!!
Another - A Division was making an attack - all wires were cut as is usual - no messages had come through for hours & H.Q. was in
