There is quite a lot of writing & quite a bit of reading of almost illegible writing on this sort of paper but written with a hand pencil and by the flickering light of a poor candle -

The German proclamation I enclose was brought in by the scouts tonight - found I believe within our own lines in a hole in the ground. It seems to be of a Socialist nature - Anyhow keep it unless I ask you for it. Fritz is great on trench mortars or TM's as they are
